Make a Difference. . .
How can YOU make a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities by simply playing golf? I’d like to tell you about it.
On October 10, 2011, volunteers will tee off and play all day at the beautiful Dogwood Golf Course in Austell, Georgia - maybe even 100 holes or more - for Right in the Community. The more sponsors you have, the more golf you play! And, we need YOU.
Arc Cobb was formed in 1956 and served both Cobb and surrounding counties, providing services for approximately 350 families who had children and adults with Mental Retardation and/or other Developmental Disabilities - as well as other types of cognitive impairments. In addition to basic family services, Arc Cobb began building homes for people with disabilities in partnership with HUD, and with the assistance of private and corporate donations. In 2007, Arc Cobb, changed its name to Right in the Community. The name changed to be sensitive to the stigma of the R word, but the mission is the same.
This Golf Marathon is the primary fundraiser for RitC to raise money to furnish these homes and provide the homey atmosphere that we want for our family members.
I have seen the homes and the family members who live in them and I can assure you that I am committed 100%. That’s why I am asking you to join with us and play golf to help raise money to support this project. Please sign up to play golf with us. I am sure you’ll have a great time and you may be the DIFFERENCE in the success of this program.
